Stonehenge Stomp Routes

NEW FOR 2019: 5K route, mostly on tarmac, through the centre of Amesbury. Click Here for more info

10K – Part road and part trail with approximately 350 feet of ascent.  Incorporating West Amesbury, New King Barrows & Old King Barrows.

20K – Mostly on trail with approximately 650 feet of ascent.  Incorporating West Amesbury, Normanton Down  & Stonehenge.   With views of the Stones on several occasions on the route.

30K – Mostly on trail with approximately 1,000 feet of ascent.  Incorporating West Amesbury, Lake, Great Durnford, Upper Woodford, Druid’s Lodge & Stonehenge.   With views of the Stones on several occasions on the route.

40K – Mostly on trail with approximately 1,300 feet of ascent.  Incorporating West Amesbury, Lake, Great Durnford, Upper Woodford, Druid’s Lodge, Stonehenge & Durrington.

Depending on how much rain falls in the few weeks before the event, there will be mud on the trail sections.  Please wear walking boots or running shoes with good grip.

What will you see on the route?  Watch out for Buzzard, Red Kite, Lapwing, Raven, (listen for the harsh, metallic call, quite unlike a crow’s cawing), flocks of Fieldfares, also Hares and Foxes.
