A team of CoSARC (City of Salisbury Athletics & Running Club) members spent a lovely, sunny autumn morning in and around Amesbury recently checking out a 10k route for the Stonehenge Stomp.
Although it is the shortest of the four routes, it still nevertheless includes some absolutely stunning views of Stonehenge and the surrounding site.
The route involves Tarmac roads, grassy tracks and some exposed sites – which could mean mud and wind, so make sure you have appropriate footwear and warm clothing with you on the day.
Overall, it’ll be a truly lovely route to enjoy on a brisk January morning! We all thoroughly enjoyed it.
We parked at Tesco before setting out – and we are hoping to have a specially designated area at the store on Stomp day for Stompers as it is looking unlikely that we can use the school’s car park this year. If so, Tesco is just a six-minute stroll to the start at Amesbury Sports Centre – and handy for any extras you need after the event.
We will post more details about the day – including parking – nearer the time.
We can’t wait to see you all in January!
